Friendships Are Important . . .

Friendships provide children with more than just fun play dates. They are vital to a child’s emotional development. Friendships teach children how to interact with others, how to communicate, cooperate and solve problems.

For children with hearing loss making and maintaining friendships can be especially challenging due to delays in their communication skills. How can parents foster the social skills that will allow their child to develop friendships?

Welcome to HEAR in New Hampshire

HEAR in New Hampshire is a non-profit agency that provides educational, therapeutic, social and support services to children who have hearing loss, their families and the professionals who serve them.

Our goal at HEAR in New Hampshire is to help children who are deaf or have other degrees of hearing loss reach their potential by teaching them to listen, talk and develop the spoken language skills that will allow them to be full and active participants in their local schools and communities.
