- Program Goal
-
HEAR in New Hampshire is a non-profit organization providing a comprehensive
auditory/oral education and therapeutic curriculum for young children
who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Through the use of a variety of amplification systems, deaf and hard
of hearing children learn to listen and talk in a fun, nurturing, language-rich
environment.
|
- Mission Statement
-
HEAR in New Hampshire’s mission is to provide educational, habilitative
and social services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing in
an auditory/oral program, and to
support families by expanding their awareness of resources that will empower
and enable their children to take their place in the world.
|
- Parent Involvement
-
Parents have an integral role in our program. They are invited and encouraged
to use our observation windows to observe throughout the course of the school
day. By participating in speech therapy sessions parents learn techniques
to assist in their child’s communication development.
Regular meetings with staff update parents on their child’s progress
and address other concerns they may have regarding communication and development.
